Mr. Ike, who served as the federal representative for Isiala Ngwa North and Isiala Ngwa South from 2007 to 2015, claimed that his decision to rejoin the PDP was motivated by his love and conviction for Professor Uche Ikonne’s bid to bring democracy to the Abia people.

Professor Uche Ikonne, he claimed, “has the strength to make Abia a centerpiece of development because he is the best among his opponents in quality, qualification, administrative ability, leadership charisma and pragmatism, democracy inclination, policy orientation, wealth creation and growth, and stability.

The former federal congressman continued by urging everyone to support Professor Ikonne in order to improve Abia. He also thanked Okezie Ikpeazu, the state’s governor, for selecting Professor Ikonne to succeed him in 2023.

In turn, Chief Obinna Nwachukwu, the state deputy chairman of the PDP, described Hon. Chinenye Ike as a political Iroko with a lot of class and clout, adding that his decision to rejoin the Peoples Democratic Party has strengthened the case for the success of Professor Uche Ikonne and other PDP candidates in the general elections of next year.

The former lawmaker and his throng of followers were told by Nwachukwu that they will be fully included in all of the party’s events and activities in the Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area.
