Accord presidential candidate, Imumolen announces strategy to end Nigeria’s insecurity. Professor Christopher Imumolen, presidential candidate for the Accord Party (AP), has committed to protect Nigeria’s borders in order to halt the spread of instability.
The flagbearer promised to work tirelessly to make sure that proper border manning is given more priority in order to prevent the inflow of undesirable elements during a meeting with AP chieftains in Abuja.
Imumolen thinks Nigeria is going through its most difficult time due of a porous border system that facilitates the entry of illegal immigrants, weapons, drugs, and people with dubious motives.
The country is suffering as a result of this carelessness, he said, since there has been an alarming increase in wrongful killings, kidnappings, and other vices.
A country that is serious about creating and sustaining peace must not permit the trend to continue, according to Imumolen.
The contender claimed that if nothing is done, both Nigeria’s sovereignty and the goal of economic progress could ultimately be derailed.
“In order to make the required adjustments, the way forward will be for us to take a comprehensive look at the current border system that we operate.
“First, we would need to examine the more than 1400 illegal, unmanned routes that make us so exposed.
Statistics show that there are about 84 approved border control systems to handle the heavy flow of people entering the country from various locations throughout all regions.
