ASUU Peter Obi tells Buhari govt how to end strike

ASUU Peter Obi tells Buhari govt how to end strike. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP), has offered a solution for how the Federal Government might put a stop to the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

According to Obi, the Federal Government should collaborate with ASUU in negotiations to put an end to the ongoing strike.

While saying that the extended industrial action was inappropriate, the LP presidential candidate said this.

The former governor of Anambra State bemoaned in a series of tweets that the strike, which started on February 14, 2022, has almost reached an impasse, to the detriment of Nigerian students.

We believe that the ASUU strike has been ongoing for far too long, Obi tweeted. To the detriment of our pupils, FGN’s decision to permit such an industrial action to grow practically intractable is despicable, concerning, and unacceptable.

It’s time for FGN to enter into cooperative, sincere negotiations with ASUU.

This is coming at a time ASUU extended its six-month-old strike indefinitely.

The choice was made by ASUU during its most recent National Executive Council, or NEC, meeting in Abuja.
