Atiku, Obi, Tinubu Oby Ezekwesili reveals preferred candidate. Oby Ezekwesili, a former minister of education, placed Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) higher than other front-runners for the presidency in the 2023 election.
During a question-and-answer session on Sunday Politics on Channels TV, Ezekwesili revealed this.
Her remarks follow recent large-scale protests staged by Obi’s supporters around the nation to rally support for the Labour Party member.
The demonstrations in Lagos, Edo State, Delta, Kaduna, other states in Nigeria, and London, the UK, were covered by DAILY POST.
The former minister claimed that even if the nation is plagued by ineffective leadership, Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, possesses what others lack.
Someone asks you, “Do you need somebody to tell you where you would be heading amongst a cast of prospective presidents that includes the three frontrunners that we presently have — a hypothetical President Tinubu, Atiku, and Obi? An Obi would be it.
Despite belonging to the political elite she was referring to, she said, “He at least represents many more forms than the other two top contenders (referring to Atiku and Tinubu).”
She also bemoaned the lack of leadership in the nation, noting that this has resulted in the nation’s progress being hindered.
She did admit, though, that the country’s current political awakening, particularly among young people, will change the environment.
