BREAKING Military secures release of 23 remaining passengers of Abuja-Kaduna train attack

BREAKING Military secures release of 23 remaining passengers of Abuja-Kaduna train attack. Following the attack on the Abuja to Kaduna train, the military has confirmed that all 23 of the passengers still being held prisoner by Boko Haram terrorists have been freed.

Their release was achieved on Wednesday, according to a statement released by the Chief of Defense Staff Action Committee (CDSAC) on Wednesday. Prof. Usman Yusuf.

The following is from the statement: “I am pleased to inform the nation and the world that at 1600Hrs. (4:00pm) today, Wednesday, October 5, 2022, the seven-member Presidential Committee assembled by the Chief of Defense Staff (CDS), General L E O Irabor, secured the release and took custody of all 23 passengers still being held hostage by Boko Haram terrorists following the attack on the Abuja to Kaduna train on March 28, 2022.

“The Nigerian Military, led by the CDS, conceptualized and oversaw the operation from beginning to end. The country owes them a debt of gratitude. The Federal Ministry of Transportation and its sister security agencies made significant contributions to this operation.

“It was all made possible by President Muhammadu Buhari’s GCFR steadfast support, who is also the Commander in Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces.

The members of this committee express their gratitude for having the unique honor and privilege of taking part in this humanitarian operation.
