Champions League Supercomputer names favourite club to win trophy this season. Manchester City has been rated as the current favorites to win the UEFA Champions League this season by a supercomputer run by a team of data scientists at ABC News’ FiveThirtyEight, following a great start to life in both the Premier League and the European top-tier event thus far.
Erling Haaland, one of the top two scorers in the Champions League, has given Man City’s offense a new dimension this year.
For Pep Guardiola’s team, the Norwegian has now netted 17 goals in all competitions.
Wednesday’s Champions League match between Man City and Copenhagen will take place at Etihad Stadium.
The Supercomputer currently projects that Guardiola’s team has a 22% probability of taking first place this season, ahead of Bayern Munich (20%, in second place), and Paris Saint-Germain (13%, in third place).
The Citizens were also assigned a 37% chance to make the final this season, but they’ve only done it once before, falling to Chelsea in the Porto final in 2021.
Liverpool, the next Premier League team, is ranked fifth and has just a 7% probability of winning the title this season, while Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur each have just a 2% chance.
