EPL Chelsea owner, Boehly slammed for claiming Salah came from Blues’ academy, The director of Mohamed Salah’s first club in Egypt, Al Mokawloon, has criticized Todd Boehly, a co-owner of Chelsea, for stating the striker came via the club’s academy.
After spending four years in the club’s youth between 2006 and 2010, Salah started his career with Mokawloon.
Before transferring to Basel in 2012, the Egyptian forward played 38 league games for the team, scoring 11 goals.
As a 21-year-old, it was his performance at the Swiss club that led to his 2014 transfer to Chelsea.
Mohamed Adel Fathi, the director of Al Mokawloon, has now responded to Boehly’s assertion that Salah graduated from the Chelsea academy during a conference this week in the United States.
Through GOAL, Fathi said on Facebook that the new Chelsea owner’s comments demonstrate a lack of comprehension.
“We are honored that Mohamed Salah is one of our kids and that he is a source of pride for the Al Mokawloon Club, Egyptian football, and Arab football.
Salah’s career and how it began with us are known across the globe, yet it appears that the owner of Chelsea is the only person in the world who is unaware of this knowledge.
