EPL Four Chelsea players could leave for free after this season. At least four Chelsea players might depart the team in the next summer as free agents. After taking over for Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter, the next Blues manager, will have some difficult choices in the near future.
In addition to trying to maintain some of their present talents at Stamford Bridge, Potter will be attempting to strengthen the team.
After failing to reach a contract extension agreement, Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger both moved on free transfers to Real Madrid and Barcelona, respectively, last summer.
Chelsea may forfeit additional players in 2023.
One of these players is Jorginho. The midfielder from Italy, who cost £50 million to acquire from Napoli in the summer of 2018, has played for three different coaches.
Barcelona is thinking about making a bid for the 30-year-old as they continue to search for potential Sergio Busquets replacements.
N’Golo Kante, a fellow midfielder, recently declined new terms.
While playing with Chelsea, the Frenchman made a name for himself as one of the finest midfielders in the world by helping the team win the Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League, Europa League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup.
But Kante only made 21 Premier League starts in 2021–2022, as he has been more prone to injuries in recent seasons.
The club just made a two-year offer to the 31-year-old, but he is refusing because he wants a contract with three sure years and the option of a fourth.
Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are keeping an eye on his situation.
Thiago Silva, a 35-year-old free agent, joined Chelsea in 2020 and played in 48 games in all competitions the previous year.
The Brazilian has been a constant in the Premier League thus far in 2022–2023, playing every minute.
Silva’s current contract expires in June 2023 at the age of 38.
Marcus Bettinelli joined Chelsea on a free transfer after leaving Fulham at the conclusion of the 2020–21 campaign.
The 30-year-old serves as Edouard Mandy and Kepa Arrizabalaga’s backup goalkeeper for the Blues at the moment.
He only made one first-team appearance for the Blues in 2021–2022, starting in a 5–1 FA Cup victory against Chesterfield. He did not participate in the Premier League that season.
Next year, the goalie will be farther down the list of priorities because Gabriel Slonina will be joining the team in January.
