EPL Guardiola has promised to help me – Latest Premier league manager. Pep Guardiola has vowed to support Roberto De Zerbi as the next manager of Brighton in games against other teams than Manchester City, according to De Zerbi.
The Brighton position is Zerbi’s first in England, but the Italian had previously led teams in his own country, including Benevento and Sassuolo, and had a brief stint in command of Shakhtar Donetsk last season.
The 43-year-old said, “I spoke to Pep on Sunday evening, sure. Pep was the one who convinced me to transfer to the Premier League. He’s overjoyed that I’m on board with this.
He assured me that the club was a good one and that he would be pleased to assist me if I needed it, but obviously not during the game we are playing against them.
With Thomas Tuchel being fired by the Chelsea owners, Zerbi was able to gain the Brighton position.
The German manager had been fired a few weeks prior by Todd Boehly, a co-owner of Chelsea, and Graham Potter, the Brighton manager, had taken his position.
