EPL Neville and Carragher back forward to join England's World Cup squad: He's a threat

EPL Neville and Carragher back forward to join England’s World Cup squad: He’s a threat. Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher, two former Premier League players, have endorsed Brentford attacker Ivan Toney to make England’s 26-man roster for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in 2022.

Carragher claimed Toney has class and would be traveling to Qatar, while Neville stated he poses a threat to opponents.

Toney’s first call-up to the national team came last month for the Nations League matches against Germany and Italy.

The 26-year-old scored twice as Brentford defeated Brighton 2-0 on Friday.

Neville stated on Sky Sports: “The threat he poses, his hard effort, and leading the line. Look at those goals and appearances; what a stellar resume.

“I believe he will have been quite disappointed to have traveled with England and not even participated, but I believe Gareth [Southgate] will have been evaluating him based on how he performed with the team and how he adjusted.

“If Ivan Toney can stay in shape over the next few of weeks, I think he will have a good chance of going [to the World Cup],”

“That is simply outstanding from Ivan Toney,” Carragher continued. This guy really is a class act; he’s not simply a target man. With this finish, you can see. He is classy.

That is the reason he is currently a member of the England team, and if he continues to act in that manner, he will be traveling to Qatar.
