Flood destroys over 50 houses in Plateau community. In Tudun Osi of Jos North Local Government Area in Plateau State, a torrential downpour has demolished more than fifty homes.
According to DAILY POST, the rainstorm began on Wednesday afternoon as people were going about their daily lives in Jos metropolis and its surroundings.
After the flood destroyed their homes, the afflicted residents had to pack up what little of their belongings remained.
According to a DAILY POST investigation, the community has been dealing with flooding, and there have been numerous reports of people losing their lives as well as their homes and possessions.
According to reports, the flood damaged over 100 homes and destroyed over 50 of them.
The impacted inhabitants claimed that in addition to the buildings, their personal belongings, such as clothing and food, were also ruined by the strong downpour.
A casualty identified only as Umar claimed that the water caught everyone off guard.
“We never anticipated it. Both my home and the homes of my neighbors were destroyed.
“My entire family has suffered great losses. It was a very awful circumstance. It would have been terrible if this had occurred at night, he said.
“We are grateful to Allah that it occurred during the day. We are pleading with the government and other kindhearted people to support us.
Ibrahim Hassan added, “It was a deluge that put us in this condition,” as he described his trauma. Allah has given us permission for such to occur.
“We have nothing to say other than to ask Allah for assistance in light of what has occurred. The affair has cost me a great deal. My home’s fence has collapsed.
Some of the victims pleaded with the authorities to provide them with building supplies to lessen the impact of the occurrence and prayed that such a catastrophe would never occur again.
