Gombe Governor to inaugurate investment summit steering committee. A six-person committee will be established by Gombe State Governor Inuwa Yahaya to guide the state’s investment conference.
The committee will be overseen by the deputy governor, Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, according to a statement released by the state administration on Friday.
The summit, GoInvest 2022, is intended to identify, engage, and attract new investment to Gombe as a top investment location and to facilitate interactions between potential investors and the state. The summit’s theme is “Industrialization, the pathway to Innovation, Transformation, and Development of Gombe State.”
It stated: “Investors, financiers, investment facilitation agents, and businesses interested in doing business with the Gombe State are all welcome to meetings between businesses and the government, Ready to Offer Investment Projects, Premium Land, Public Private Partnership (PPP) Projects, and other opportunities.
“On the fringes of COP27, the Summit also seeks to broker agreements that would support development in significant industries and highlight Gombe State’s leadership in the battle against climate change.”
Members of the committee include Muhammad K. Ahmed, Mohammed Magaji, Commissioner of Finance, and Dr. Ishiyaku Mohammed, who will serve as secretary. Dr. Umaru Kwairanga, Chairman of Gombe State Investment and Property Development Co Ltd., Haruna Jalo Waziri, Managing Director/CEO of Central Securities Clearing Systems Plc.
On October 11 and 12, 2022, the Gombe State Government and the North East Development Commission will organize the inaugural Gombe State Investment Summit (GoInvest 2022), which will be sponsored by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the Nigerian Investment Promotion Gombe State.
