Gov. Buni warns civil servants against laxity, absenteeism. The governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, has admonished state employees against being slack, absentee, and careless at work.
The administration, he claimed, would not put up with such behavior.
In an interactive meeting between the State Working Committee and the leaderships of the Nigerian Labor Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) in the State on Tuesday, Buni issued the warning.
The Governor, who was represented by his deputy Idi Barde Gubana, stated that the first of its type engagement sought to improve the two parties’ industrial harmony for better administration.
In order to ensure that his government would continue to provide the people of the State with greater democratic dividends, he gave members of the unions a mission to take their work seriously by always being on time, devoted, and dedicated to their responsibilities.
Comrade Muktar Tarbutu, the State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), praised the State administration for creating an atmosphere that allowed civil workers to work successfully and for promptly paying retirees’ wages, allowances, pensions, and gratuities.
