Gov. Ugwuanyi my dearest leader – Pete Edochie. Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has been referred to be “the most dearest person” to him among outstanding leaders in the nation and abroad by renowned veteran Nollywood actor Chief Pete Edochie.
At a celebration for his and his wife, Barr. Mrs. Josephine Edochie, which took place yesterday at The Base Landmark Event Centre in Enugu, Chief Edochie made the statement.
In addition to former deputy chief of staff at the Imo State Government House, Barr. Chima Nwant to, and deputy governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the State, Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai, Gov. Ugwuanyi attended the event.
One of Africa’s most gifted performers, Chief Edochie, expressed his satisfaction with Gov. Ugwuanyi’s excellent leadership abilities and his attendance at the event.
The seasoned Nollywood actor called the occasion a “defining milestone of my life,” and he expressed his gratitude for Gov. Ugwuanyi’s attendance to share the occasion with him and his family.
Chief Edochie asked photographers why they did not give him copies of the pictures they had taken of him with Gov. Ugwuanyi on various occasions, noting that he already had photos of him in his home with leaders like Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe (Zik), Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Chinua Achebe, and Jerry Rawlings.
To join him and his wife in cutting the anniversary cake, he invites Gov. Ugwuanyi, his guest, and the PDP’s deputy governorship candidate. “In my house, I have photos of myself with Zik (Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe), with Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, with Chinua Achebe, and with Jerry Rawlings, but of all the names I have listed, the one who means the most to me is the Governor of Enugu State present here,” Chief Edochie added.
However, the photographers who often snap these photos have left on multiple occasions without providing me with a copy.
“So I’m going to cut this cake today. I want His Excellency (Ugwuanyi) to join me as I cut the cake as he stands nearby. We’ll be joined by your visitor and the new deputy governor.
“Any photographer who will be the first to provide me the images that you (photographers) take now will win a significant award from me. Were you aware of that?
In their words of goodwill to the celebrants (Edochie and his wife), other distinguished attendees at the occasion praised Gov. Ugwuanyi for his modesty, serenity, and dedication to excellent government.
