After logging in to www.dgip.go.id, click the ‘online service’ feature. After that, click on brand data, an online facility for Indonesian brand data will appear. You enter the name of the desired trademark/service in the box provided, then enter.

So, there will be a number of brands using that name, if any. If the brand is the same, but the goods or services are different, it can be registered. Second, formally inquire directly from the officials of the Director General of Intellectual Property Rights, both at the central Directorate General of Intellectual Property Rights and at regional offices spread across various provinces.

Third, consult with IPR consultants. Usually entrepreneurs use the services of an IPR consultant so that they are not bothered with the IPR registration process, or this entrepreneur has problems with IPR. However, you are advised to understand about IPR in general at least through the website of the Director General of Intellectual Property Rights or ask the Director General of Intellectual Property Rights directly, before visiting an IPR consultant.

The procedure for someone who wants to become a Consultant is to attend training and pass the Consultant training as a general requirement to apply as a Consultant. Training as an Intellectual Property Rights Consultant is only carried out by universities.

If the applicant has met the requirements, then he can be appointed as a consultant. Prior to carrying out his/her position, the consultant must take an oath or promise according to his/her religion in front of the Minister.

The trademark consultant is appointed and the oath or promise is taken, which is registered in the list of IPR Consultants and announced in the Official Gazette in the field of IPR issued by the Directorate General.
