Messi’s return to Barcelona would be a mistake – Jordi. Jota Jordi, a football analyst, thinks Lionel Messi should not go back to Barcelona after playing for Paris Saint-Germain.
Jordi thinks Barcelona should only think about bringing Messi back to Camp Nou if the Argentine captain is willing to play a supporting role.
Remember that Messi departed his childhood club for PSG last season because the Catalan club, which was in bankruptcy, could not afford to renew his contract. Messi has been linked with a return to Barcelona.
The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner struggled in his debut season in France, scoring just 11 goals and dishing out 15 assists in 34 games, but Messi has found his form again this year.
Messi has so far this season contributed eight assists and seven goals for PSG in 12 games across all competitions.
“I believe that is a mistake. Maybe, if he agreed to play a supporting part, which I believe would be quite challenging. On Spanish television’s El Chiringuito, Jordi stated, “But I think that Barça had a horrible time last year sportingly because, among other things, we have to get used to a life without Messi, and I think we’re working on it (via PSGTalk).
“I think we’re on it,” he continued. Additionally, I believe it would be a mistake to bring up Messi once more. I see it. I think it’s really challenging—not impossible, but challenging nevertheless.
