Nations League Trust me – Declan Rice makes promise after England’s 1-0 loss to Italy. After Friday’s 1-0 Nations League loss to Italy, England midfielder Declan Rice guaranteed that the Three Lions will improve moving ahead. As Italy overcame England at San Siro thanks to a goal from Giacomo Raspadori in the second half, Rice also urged faith.

The defeat to Italy resulted in the relegation of Gareth Southgate’s team to League B in the Nations League.

It was also the longest losing streak in competitive games for England since October 1992.

“It is undoubtedly discouraging. We aim to win every competition we enter,” Rice said to Channel 4 following the defeat.

“We have fallen short of our expectations in the Nations League, but I didn’t think it was all that horrible tonight.

It is on its way. Compared to the performance we witnessed in the summer, it was considerably better tonight.

“It’s not that we’re not making opportunities, either. In training, I observe it. There are aims for amusement. You can count on us to succeed.
