NPFL Transfer Enyimba signs Akanni from MFM. Midfielder Elijah Akanni has been signed by Enyimba from MFM FC.
Following the Olukoya Boys’ expulsion from the Nigeria Professional Football League in the previous campaign, Akanni cut connections with MFM.
According to a statement on the team’s official website, “Enyimba Football Club has struck an agreement for the signing of Elijah Akanni.”
Akanni, who formerly played for MFM FC for a number of seasons, will join the People’s Elephant.
Enyimba, an eight-time NPFL winner, is aiming to rebuild their team following a dismal season last year.
The Aba Giants placed sixth overall in the standings.
Akanni is a skilled striker who plays in the attacking midfield position. He is also capable of performing well in deeper center midfield roles.
