Obasanjo would back Atiku to become president of Nigeria, according to an aid. According to the Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organization, former President Olusegun Obasanjo would back his former vice president in winning the presidency.
Obasanjo is aware of the candidate’s potential, according to campaign spokesperson Charles Aniagwu.
On Wednesday in Asaba, Aniagwu, the Delta Commissioner for Information, spoke with journalists.
He noted that during the most recent general election, Obasanjo had backed the PDP candidate.
Aniagwu said that from 1999 to 2007, Atiku helped the nation’s former head of state restructure the economy.
“If Obasanjo backed Atiku so strongly in 2019, I don’t believe anything has changed since then. Atiku was essentially Obasanjo’s candidate. He will come to realize that Atiku thanks to the same God who inspired him to back him in 2019.
“Obasanjo sensed Atiku’s potential in 1999 and, against all chances, picked him to be his running partner,” he was reported as saying by NAN.
The media assistant expressed optimism that Obasanjo will back Atiku in 2023 in the interest of Nigeria and in accordance with his patriotic principles.
Aniagwu stated that the former vice president have the skills necessary to deliver the nation from its current predicament.
