Three suspected serial killers nabbed in Ogun. Three alleged serial murders have been detained by Ogun State police, who claimed they were prominent Eiye confraternity members.
They had been “terrorizing Ijebu Ode and its vicinity for quite some time,” Ogun State police image maker Abimbola Oyeyemi said on Saturday. They were finally apprehended on Wednesday.
Odukoya Odushina (the top Eiye member), Subomi Popoola, and Itunuoluwa Taiwo were the suspects according to Oyeyemi.
He explained that the police at the Obalende divisional headquarters in Ijebu-Ode had got information that cultists were meeting at a shadowy area known as Sanga, which is located behind the Central Mosque.
According to information obtained by DAILY POST, the purpose of the meeting was to “unleash panic on community residents.”
The Divisional Police Officer in charge of the Obalende division had dispatched his investigators to the aforementioned “black area” in response to the information.
On spotting the police officers, it was said that the hoodlums “attacked them with hazardous weapons, but they were subdued” and captured.
Oyeyemi stated that preliminary inquiry had shown “the apprehended individuals were into cultism, they were into armed robbery as well.”
Odukoya had previously been detained and charged with a crime, but he had been released on bond, according to the police.
According to the police spokesman, “he went with his gang to rob in Ayegbami area of ijebu Ode on the third day after he was granted free, where he killed one man simply known as Baba Njo.”
“Some stolen goods, including jewelry, phones, and maybe hard drugs, were found on them.
The gang has also been connected to a number of cult murders in Ijebu Ode and the surrounding area.
The Ogun Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, has ordered a manhunt for the suspects’ collaborators in order to charge them to court as soon as feasible. In the meantime, a thorough inquiry into the suspects’ actions has been ordered.
