U-17 WWC Flamingos fall to Fenerbahce in friendly. Prior to the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, Nigeria’s Flamingos suffered a 3-1 loss against Fenerbahce Ladies in their last pre-tournament friendly.

Last Saturday, Bankole Olowookere’s girls defeated Galatasaray Ladies by the same score.

For Fenerbahce, Busan Sekar scored the first goal after 35 minutes, and the second goal 10 minutes before the end of regulation.

On the exact 90th minute, Etim Edidiong cut the Flamingos’ deficit.

But late in stoppage time, Fenerbahce’s two-goal advantage was restored by Nina Kpaho.

The focus will now move to the Flamingos’ inaugural World Cup match against Germany on October 11 at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

They play New Zealand there three days later, and on October 17 they play Chile in their last group match.
